Lo que dice el Arxiduc:

“In the background is Cherso (Cres) Island, long and covered in forests; there is also Veglia (Krk) Island, with its numerous mounts and hills, adorned with castles. A little closer is barren San Marco (Marko) islet, a tranquil place for goats and, at the same time, like a signal, a giant pyramid that separates and points to the channel towards Dalmatia. In front are green slopes towards Fiume (Rijeka) and Volosca (Volosko) shining at the back of the gulf. From here we can see the Istria peninsula with Mount Maggiore (Ucka), a colossus measuring five thousand meters high. The false impression of being completely isolated in the gulf is so great that on calm summer days you might think you’re at a lake instead of the sea.”

A.L.S.: Buccari, Prague 1871

Datos proyecto Nixe III:

Here is a view of Mount Maggiore ( Ucka) taken from in front of Opatija.

We didn’t take the boat to the end of the bay where Volosca ( Volosko) can be found. Here is a picture taken from Opatija in which we can see Hotel Ambassador in the forefront, with the coast in the back where Volosca is located.
