“Near the sea, the rough coast is almost straight; there is only one cape of importance, Point Tjuk, which has a small cave on the right-hand side through which the waves enter. It’s a good refuge for boats when it rains. Once –according to fishermen– people from Veglia (Krk) entered the cave with their large-mast boat. When the sea level rose, however, the boat crashed against the ceiling and broke apart; both sailors and the boat were claimed by the sea. The cave is called Tjuk (which means “flattened”), though the word “point” was later added to the name.”
