Lo que dice el Arxiduc:

“Old women with brown headscarves are seated in front of their houses, working with spinning wheels, while young girls whose hair is hidden under pretty knotted scarves look down from the pergola gate with pale, Venetian faces full of sadness. One is often surprised by the beauty of their stature which has not been destroyed by any art and reveals itself even more with their simple clothing.”

A.L.S.: Buccari, Prague 1871

Datos proyecto Nixe III:

The images the Archduke described have definitely been lost. Though Bakar is a city which still retains its traditional architecture, its inhabitants are modern and have adopted all the standard western customs. Only at dinner in a traditional restaurant along the coast did we have a momentary sensation of returning slightly back in time.
