Nixe III :: General objectives

There are things that started so long ago that it’s hard to remember exactly how they began – experiences that our parents and grandparents introduced us to at a very young age. The Mediterranean becomes confused with our deepest identity – an identity that has yet to be discovered, an identity and a reality that, more than anything, we would like to preserve. With this motivation, and with the dream of convincing others to get involved in this endeavour, we have set a series of goals that will guide us over the next few years:

• First, we wish to share the Mediterranean Sea, in all its rich diversity, with more people, some who live far from Mare Nostrum, and others who live on its shores but wish to know it better.
• Much of our energy will be dedicated to the Nixe III project. This project will focus on the life of Archduke Ludwig Salvator and his scientific work related to the Mediterranean Sea.
• Through various links to different institutions or other projects, we will also try to increase awareness about various problems currently facing the Mediterranean Sea.
• Finally, we will work to ensure that the interest generated by this project can be channelled, in the form of aid, towards certain charitable institutions.
