“A bridge which will one day replace the ferry is almost finished. Two 60-metre-high posts are ready to receive it.

The surface plate will be 45 metres high, so ships will be able to sail by underneath; now the ferry has to free its cable in that situation.

There are several country homes on the right or south shore, among which Mr. Brézenaud’s, which is fairly pretty, stands out… From the house’s terrace there is a good view over the canal towards Sebra Bay. After the hotel’s terrace, it is the highest point in the new city.

On that side of the canal, the land is very fertile, and all the trees grow quickly.”
