For ethnologists and archaeologists as well as artists, studying the traditional clothing worn by people is not only of great interest but, also, worthy for the scientific and artistic value it provides. Conclusions can be reached from this traditional clothing about its analogous origins and mutual relationships. For the artist’s brush, they provide models for charming drawings. No people in the world, like the South Slavs, can take glory in the beautiful and distinguished clothing they wear in terms of both shape and colours. This is due in part to their vicinity to the Ottomans and in part to their national ingenuity, two factors which represent a happy relation between the sensual luxury of the Orient and the Christian sobriety of these inhabitants of severe Slavic mountains.
