In this book the term “homogenization” constantly appears, referring truly to today’s concept of globalization. It’s surprising that the Archduke should have the foresight to coin the concept. It’s also interesting that he was able to identify some of its causes (development of transportation) as well as some of its consequences (loss of local cultural customs and traditions).
